# 295: Fruit?

I often photograph found things, friends sometimes give me things they've found. This is the fruit or seed from a London Plane Tree. I picked this up on a walk and will hang onto it to see if it matures, like a fresh green acorn turns brown. I love the texture and how it matches the beech worktops in my kitchen.

# 294: Hello! My Name's Joe!

Isn't it funny how they come out of school looking so tired, then minutes after we arrive home Jodie's bouncing up and down singing a song the Maths teacher has taught them!

# 293: Not a good day

This was all I could manage today, a grab shot with iPhone of Jodie chatting ten to the dozen with (at?) Karina whilst bringing Bonnie out of her stable for Jodie's lesson. I was cheered to hear Jodie chatting and laughing, she had a great lesson with Fiona, thoroughly enjoyed herself and giggled most of the way around the indoor school.

The day had begun with uncertainty, passing paramedics at the house of someone I knew on the way to school with Jodie. Later, news came and it was the worst. I didn't know them very well, but still feel keenly for those left behind, especially the children :0(

# 292: Dappled light

The pattern from the obscure glass in the kitchen door, almost like moving water.

# 291: Ginger Biscuit

We love our rescue cat Biscuit. I've always had a soft spot for ginger cats. Biscuit will now let us pick her up with minimal complaint, but she's definitely not a lap cat. She's lovely :0)

# 290: Newborn

Today I was very happy to meet a new family and capture some images of this beautiful little lady, just 11 days old, what a sweetie, a little angel. Wow...

# 289: Harbour steps

The low tide reveals textures and colours in the small harbour.

# 288: Wave

I spent some time on a beach for the first time in a few years - living in the East Midlands, we are about as far as you can get from the coast of the British Isles, and I miss it. I spent ages photographing patterns in the sand, stones, driftwood... It was fantastic.

# 287: Period wallcovering

I love the texture and distressed tiredness of this wallcovering in a National Trust property in Northumberland, very Downton Abbey.

# 286: Sunset

Lovely colours in the sky tonight.
SOOC, apart from editing out a lighting column, no enhancement required - a spectacle of nature's making, not of mine.

# 284: "This is how you do it..."

How lovely to be able to sprawl with your Dad on the floor anywhere you like now ;0)

# 283: Keeping his seat warm?

Biscuit likes Oliver's chair. Neither cat appears to be missing him, but we definitely are. Its very quiet when he's not here, no Top Gear re-runs on Dave, no Match of the Day, no rattle of keyboard keys as he attacks his homework with gusto...no bickering with his sister! I imagine time is passing much faster for him than for us. He will be home soon :0)
iPhone grab shot using Hipstamatic.

# 282: Nesting materials

Last night I discovered a mouse in the house - in the kitchen, in the cupboard under the sink. He has helped himself to some top quality bedding material - he'll be expecting fitted carpets next! Tonight, a trap is set, baited with peanut butter. Tomorrow we'll see if we have caught a little mousey! (He will be set free in the garden, and hopefully Biscuit won't bring him back in!)

# 281: Hanging pictures

Now that the carpet is fitted, we have brought out some of the pictures that have been in storage. Next, the doors go back on after being trimmed to accommodate the new carpet. Did I tell you we've had new carpet fitted? ;0)

# 278: Household Cavalry Musical Ride

The finale of our day at the Horse of the Year Show was the Household Cavalry Musical Ride. It was amazing, I asked Jodie what she thought of it and she said "That was totally wicked!!" We also saw Pippa Funnel win her event; a Pony Club final; a lot of horses and ponies, and did some horsey shopping! We had front row seats - this was unexpected, as the tickets stated Row D - but when we got there, there was no row A, B or C! Ace!
And yes I know the blog numbers are out of sequence, but its been a very busy week, and in my haste to get the blog up to date from Monday onwards, I omitted to download images from the compact camera from Wednesday's HOYS! So this is Wednesday's entry :0} Thank you and goodnight! lol!

# 280: The Adventure begins

Oliver is now en route to his host family in Germany. He will travel through the night by road and ferry and arrive exhausted no doubt, but he will be well looked after by his new German friends. It's going to be very quiet around here for a week!

# 276: Underlay

Today's the day! We have waited a long time, nearly at the end of this project of a house, this is the new style 100% recyclable underlay, awaiting the new carpet!

Biscuit approves.

And so does Jodie!

# 275: Quiltscape

My favourite quilt, a down duvet, freshly washed and all fluffed up. I miss it when I'm away from home.

# 274: Derby WorldWide PhotoWalk 2011

The last shot on the day's walk, and one of my favourites. I waited for her to walk from the shade into the sun to take this shot. More can be seen here.

# 273: Autumnul cat

Sunbathing in the morning sun on a day when records were broken - warmest September day for decades. Shot with iPhone on the way home from walking Jodie to school.

Jodie and Blue

Jodie has been riding since she was 7, over half her life. Just. Ownership is costly, but she's learning life skills and life lessons...
