There are autumn colours in the garden, but also, early spring flowers. The leaves on the forsythia are fabulous in their reds and yellows, but there shouldn't be flowers until February. I've never seen blossom and leaves on the shrub at the same time in autumn before.
Our Forsythia had that last year. Just a few flowers though. Not the full blown amount you get early in the year when there are no leaves.
